General overview of the admission process to a UK University
All student applications to UK universities are made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). Students fill in their UCAS applications online through their website. There are five major steps in the application process;
- Finding the right course,
- Finding a university,
- Filling out the application form,
- Sending and waiting for replies.
Notably, the UCAS applications usually have deadlines indicated and students are expected to submit their applications before the deadline in order for their applications to be considered valid.
Students can apply for different courses in the same university to help them gain a high chance of admission. Besides, students can also check for their eligibility for possible loans, scholarships, and grants. Students receive feedback after their applications have been scrutinized by the universities that they have applied for.
