Overview of of Nottingham Trent University

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a public university located in the heart of the UK.

NTU is a modern university with a long history, which dates back to 1843 when it opened as the Nottingham Government School of Design.

With the motto ‘shaping futures’, NTU offers over 500 different degree programmes to over 29,000 students across three campuses (City, Clifton and Brackenhurst), overseen by nine different academic schools.

The university prides itself on its global outlook, with almost 7,000 of its students studying overseas at partner colleges and around 3,000 international students from 150 countries around the world enrolled at its Nottingham sites.
Additionally, the university hosts a Global Week event each year that celebrates cultural diversity in a five-day festival of food, music, dance, cinema and drama.

NTU has been awarded Green Flags for the sustainability of its Brackenhurst and Clifton campuses while the People & Planet Green League recently ranked it one of the most environmentally friendly universities in the UK.

We have invested around £450 million into our campuses and facilities over the last 15 years. This has led to significant developments, revamping historic buildings and facilities, and building state-of-the-art new ones, with NTU being considered one of the most impressive environments to study in.

Outside of the university grounds, Nottingham is a vibrant city known for its shopping, rich culture and history, nightlife and sport.
According to the 2015 Student Living Index, NTU is ranked as the third most cost-effective university in the UK.
