George Mason University

George Mason University was founded in 1972 and is the largest research university in Virginia. It is a public university with a total student population of 33, 917 of which 2000 are international students from 125 countries. It offers more than 76 bachelor’s degrees and more than 125 post- graduate programmes. Two George Mason faculty members have won the Nobel Prize in economics.

The main campus is located in Fairfax County, Virginia; just 20 miles outside of Washington, D.C. Additional campuses are located nearby in Arlington County, Prince William County, and Loudoun County. Students can take advantage being near the country’s capital.

Ranked among the top 100 best universities in the US and among the top 200 globally by the Academic Ranking of World Universities, 2012.
