Xian Jiaoton Liverpool University
Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is a young, independent university based in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. Founded in 2006 and resulting from a partnership between the University of Liverpool and Xi’an Jiaotong University, it is the first Sino-British university between research led universities, exploring new educational models for China.
It is a science and engineering university with a second focus in English, recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education as a “not for profit” educational institution. Students are rewarded with a University of Liverpool degree as well as a degree from XJTLU. The teaching language is English.
The University is committed to the improvement of higher education and the exploration of new models for higher education. The University aims to become a “research-led international university in China and a Chinese university internationally recognized for its unique features” through capitalising on the advantages of its unique model and global education resources. We shall effectively integrate scientific research with student education, and devote ourselves to research on the improvement of human living standards. Our central education tasks focus on the improvement of students’ attainment, abilities and competitiveness.
