Selkirk College

Selkirk College is a community college in British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 1966, it was the first regional community college in British Columbia. The college offers over 60 programs. Selkirk has grown into one of the largest organizations in the West Kootenay and Boundary regions of south eastern British Columbia.

Each year, the college is responsible for over $75 million in economic activity, employing over 550 full and part-time staff and providing post-secondary learning experiences for over 2400 full-time equivalent students. Selkirk College offers a variety of academic, career, vocational and technical programs, part-time, full-time and on-line.

The College has partnered with a number of universities. These Universities includes: Royal Roads University which facilitates the block transfer of students from Selkirk College with appropriate prerequisite qualifications into the third year of the Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management degree.

Also with all four years of classes held at Selkirk College, nursing students gets to study in one of BC’s most beautiful regions and graduate with a University of Victoria Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

Selkirk College (Selkirk) is a fully accredited public post-secondary institution offering access to a wide variety of university courses and career programs.

The nursing program is nationally accredited by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) and provincially recognized by the College of Registered Nurses in BC (CRNBC).

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program prepares students for the classroom. This program teaches theory and gives students practice teaching experience in multi-lingual language classes. This program is accredited by TESL Canada.
